CB Principal

Hello CB Families!

My name is Brian Plichta and I am extremely honored to serve as the Principal of Clara Barton Elementary School! This is my third year as Principal of Clara Barton. As a graduate of West Mifflin Area High School, it is with great honor that I continue to serve the students and families of the West Mifflin area.

I love to learn and play sports! I graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a degree in Psychology and Education. At W&J I earned Pre-Season Academic All-American Honors while lettering in both football and baseball. I began teaching Social Studies at West Mifflin Area Middle School while coaching football, wrestling, and softball. While teaching, I received a master’s degree from Duquesne University in School Psychology. I then received principal’s certification from California University of Pennsylvania and served as the Assistant Principal at West Mifflin Area High School, Middle School, and eventually moved to Middle School Principal. I was able to serve in the old Middle school building and the new building on the high school campus.

Most recently, I earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Walden University. I am a lifelong learner and strive to inspire all children to love learning!

Throughout my journey, I have had a lot of support from my wife and family.  My wife Jamie teaches first grade at Gateway School District. I have two boys, Logan and Landon who keep me busy as I coach and support them.

Each day I strive to help the children of CB! It is our job to ensure that each child maximizes their learning potential and builds a strong foundation for success!
