Ms. Zitelli Room 105

Hello! My name is Jennifer Zitelli. I am a 1st grade teacher here at Clara Barton. This is my 23rd year of teaching in the West Mifflin Area School District. I first began my teaching career in WMASD at the West Mifflin Middle School where I taught 6th grade Social Studies and Keyboarding classes. I then moved to Homeville Elementary and taught first grade. After 11 years at Homeville, I was moved to Clara Barton where I continue to teach first grademy favorite grade level😊.

Prior to teaching in WMASD, I taught 1st and 2nd grade reading in the McKeesport Area School District. I am a graduate of McKeesport Area School District and had the opportunity to teach with several of my own elementary teachers.

I am a University of Pittsburgh graduate. I attained both undergraduate and graduate degrees there. My certifications included elementary education and reading specialist certification. I worked with many elementary students through Pitt tutoring programs.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching 1st Graders! Being able to teach students core reading skills and then expand their comprehension, vocabulary, and love of reading is exciting. I also really love teaching math and watching students get excited about patterns, problem solving, and integrating math and reading skills.

At home, I enjoy my family including my fur babies, Callie and Colbie. They are Great Pyrenees mixes and enjoy daily walks and playtime. I enjoy traveling, especially to visit my family in Maine. I also enjoy reading, listening to music, walks with the dogs, and watching boxing. Thank you for reading😊.
